Painting

Rose, Rosebud, Rosebud, Rosebud, Rose

These are roses from a very old rose bush that we saved in the wild, overgrown flower beds on our property in NH. With a little clearing and coaxing we uncovered over a dozen, along with beautiful peonies and bunch of other flowers. I'm not a big gardener, but I do love gardens. This painting was made in the spirit of most of the painting that I am doing right now (2020), which is to say, quick and impressionistic, so as to keep the painting process fun. I am in a period of change with my painting, and while I don't think this is a good representation of where I feel like I'm heading, the exercise of completing any painting with an intention, start to finish, is useful and informative.
